In short: we design and build outdoor kitchens as part of the whole backyard: grill, counters, bar seating, refrigeration and storage, with gas, power, water and drainage planned in from day one.
What goes into a good outdoor kitchen
- A built-in grill sized for how you cook, with a vent hood if it sits under a cover.
- Counter space on both sides of the grill for prep and landing.
- Bar seating facing the pool or the TV, not the back of the cook.
- Refrigeration, a sink and storage so you aren't walking back inside every five minutes.
- Durable surfaces: stone or porcelain counters and finishes that handle Texas sun and freezes.
Placement is everything
The best kitchens sit under a patio cover, close enough to the house for convenience and close enough to the pool to stay in the conversation. Smoke direction, afternoon sun and how far gas and power have to run all affect where it goes. We work those out in the 3D design so the kitchen, the cover and the pool fit together.
Utilities, planned once
Gas, electrical and plumbing for the kitchen are trenched and run at the same time as the pool's, which saves money and avoids tearing up a finished deck later.

Questions
Do I need a patio cover over an outdoor kitchen?
It isn't required, but in North Texas a cover makes the kitchen usable in summer heat and rain. If the grill sits under a cover, plan for a vent hood.
Can you build a kitchen without a pool?
Yes, though most of our kitchens are part of a larger backyard project with a pool or patio cover.
Does an outdoor kitchen need a permit?
Gas, electrical and plumbing work and any covered structure typically require permits. We handle the permits and inspections with your city.
